How The Grinch Stole Christmas
December 10 & 11, 2016,
Heritage Playhouse, Gibsons, BC

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a children's story by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel written in rhymed verse. It follows the Grinch, a grouchy, solitary creature who attempts to put an end to Christmas by stealing Christmas-themed items from the homes of the nearby town Whoville on Christmas Eve. Despite his efforts, Whoville's inhabitants still celebrate the holiday, so the Grinch returns everything that he stole and is the guest of honour at the Whos' Christmas dinner.

Our reading of the story in dramatic style repeats the format ofthe Radio Plays we have performed at Christmas for the past 5 years - with a little extra action.

Our cast includes seasoned radio actors Richard Austin, Stephen Archibald, Mary Kenny, Sheila Tsuji and Gambol & Garity Guignard.

Augmented this year by the Chorolations Children's Choir directed by Janice Brunson, we will be starting off the Christmas season in style with a family oriented show that should bring warmth and fun to all.

Our Format

We perform on stage, in 1940's costume to recreate the feeling of the original way in which Radio Plays were performed in front of a live audience, but purely for radio broadcasting. Through the cooperation of CKAY-FM radio we actually have broadcast our productions - so when you watch us perform you canbecome part of the production.

Everyone who has been to our performances has gone away thrilled at the humour, family fun, and delight at seeing all the sound effects produced live on stage for you delectation!

This is a great way to start off the Christmas season with a heart-warming and fun evening of good ol' Christmas spirit and fun.

Past Productions

Following up on our first recording and performance of "It's A Wonderful Life" (2011), we performed: "Miracle on 34th Street" (2012), "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" (2013), and the "Father Knows Best" show — "A Simpler Christmas"  (2014) "A Child's Christmas In Wales" (2015)

Advertising Opportunity

In all our productions we write 1940s style commercials which are read by our actors in the intermission. Last year's advertisers found people coming to their establishments after the show to say they had heard the commercial, and how good it was, and of course they spent money when they were there.

We can offer advertising space in our audience programmes or “live” spots in the show - i.e. “...and now a word from our sponsors....”
Because the show will also be aired on local radio station, CKAY-FM, a “live spot” might get extra coverage.
